19 Apr 2008 - Monopoly Day

Upper Nidderdale entered two teams in the Monopoly Competition. This is not sitting round a table moving a hat and an iron round a board. our version is to give each team a bus pass and map of Harrogate and move around the town to visit locations.

This year bases were spread all the way between Ripley, Starbeck, Pannal, Knaresborough and various locations throughout Harrogate town. The only way to move between the bases was foot or bus, even though some started on scooters. The day started at 0830 and finished at 1600 all you had to do was get round as may bases as you could.

The Upper Nidderdale team of Josh, Alex, Matt & Richard came second on the day and enjoyed a prize of a meal at Pizza Hut before travelling back to Pateley by yet another bus.

Martin & Paul spent the day on a freezing cold Ripley carpark with a flask of coffee and an ice cream shop for company.

A brilliant day enjoyed by all our Scouts who took part. Well done to John & Angela at 20th for organising everything.
